TBS (Trabecular Bone Score)  is a quantitative index that qualifies the status of bone micro architecture.

TBS is based on the analysis of the grey level variations present into the X-ray projected images (see examples below).

TBS correlates with Parfitt bone micro architecture parameters:

Positively with connectivity density ConnD (number of loops per unit volume) and trabecular number TbN (mean

    trabecular number per unit length)

Negatively with trabecular separation TbSp (mean distance between trabeculae)
